Critical Sex Ed Workshop with Kay Heffernan
Former Brace Advisory Board member and English Fellow, Kay Heffernan (they/she) joined the Andover adult community for a virtual workshop on culturally responsive, critical sexual health education. With their background and expertise in both community education and theological studies, Kay helped the faculty to reflect on inclusive ways to engage students in inquiry and knowledge-building around their sexual world and lives. Gender in World Languages
Brace Director Emma Staffaroni partnered with leaders in the World Languages Division for a full day of professional development about gender inclusivity in the language classroom. Instructors in Spanish, Russian, Latin, and Chinese led various breakout sessions to support their team members on the topics of inclusive classrooms, pedagogies, and curriculum. November 2021

On March 30th, 2019, Phillips Academy hosted a symposium to explore all aspects of the current food system. The stellar list of presenters brought expertise to campus on a wide range of food-related items.
Acclaimed filmmaker Byron Hurt visited campus October 9th through October 12th, 2019 to share with students and faculty his work on anti-sexist education.
